Nathan Jackson

Assistant Head Teacher

I am originally from Guisborough, a small town in the North East of England and studied Secondary Design Technology Education, specialising in Product Design at Edge Hill University in Liverpool where I graduated with a First-Class Honors Degree. I started my teaching career in London where I worked for 3 years as a Design Technology Teacher across all year groups and was also a Deputy Head of Year. During this time my classes obtained some of the highest D&T results in the School’s GCSE and A Level history. In 2015, I then moved to Dubai to pursue my passion in Pastoral Care and Leadership.

In the 9 years I have been at FirstPoint, I have held the positions of Head of Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 supporting students through some of the most challenging years of their education before joining the Secondary Senior Leadership team 5 years ago. I am an extremely passionate individual who only strives for the best in everything I do, continually pushing students to always be the best they can be. My key roles have been supporting students both pastorally and academically, ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of everything I do. In supporting students academically, I am always coming up with new innovative ways to support all students in my care, to give them the tools to become successful in an ever-changing world. I am delighted to assume the role of Assistant Head Teacher this academic year.

Aside from education I am a keen sportsman, playing both competitive football in Dubai and Cricket in the UAE and spend my spare time on the golf course.  I am also an avid DJ and this has allowed time to DJ around the world including helping at school events such as proms.
