Nazia Mirza

I started my career as a teacher of ICT after completing her PGCE in IT, from Newman College in Birmingham. I also hold a BA (Hons) degree in Business Administration and IT from University of Derby. The choice of a profession in education was something that I had always considered, as my mother and other close family members were teachers, professors and vice chancellors of universities in various educational institutions around the world. In the 13 years of my teaching experience in the UK, I have spent 9 years working in a pastoral role and two years as Head of Digital Technologies, both in comprehensive mixed schools in Birmingham.

I moved to Dubai last year to take a post as Teacher of Computing here at FirstPoint school. When the post of Head of Year became available here at FPS, I applied for the position as I strongly believed that I could add value to the school by helping to support pupils reach their full potential. My moto is to ensure that pupils in her year group are supported through their journey here at First Point School, by providing al pupils with individualized support to help them learn and become lifelong learners.  I believe that “Every Child Matters”. My professionalism and commitment towards the school is to make a difference to every child’s life ensuring that progress is accelerated and sustainable.  I am a mother to three beautiful boys and speak about them with a lot of pride and joy.
