Rebecca Davies
Year 10 Leader
My passion for teaching came from my grandparents, both PE teachers and passionate about their careers. From a young age the desire to be successful in sport has been very grounded from my family.
I took part in a range of sporting activities such as athletics, rugby, rounders, basketball and hockey. After trialing a range of sports my true passion was discovered – Netball. I played for my school, district, county and country. I managed to secure my place in the U18 Welsh Netball team, this allowed me to represent and develop my skills not only on the court but her resilience off court too. As I developed I moved to Brighton to study at Brighton University, I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Physical Education with QTS. My netball passion continued and I played 1st team and became president of the Netball Teams.
I started my teaching career in Wiltshire in 2015, Malmesbury School. This was an enjoyable time of my teaching career due to the high sporting and academic success that the students achieved. I gained my first leadership position as Head of House in this school, motivating the students successfully to win the House Cup. I then moved to Dubai in 2017 with a PE teaching job at GEMS FirstPoint. I have been Head of House and Head of Year at First Point demonstrating a variety of middle leadership roles.
