Sophie Munro

Head of Fire Foxes

Miss Munro is originally from Sunderland, in the North East of England. She graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2013 with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Media Studies. She then decided to take a year out from education to embark on a gap year travelling around South East Asia and then living in Australia for a year. 


Upon returning to England in 2015, Miss Munro completed her PGCE teacher training programme and qualified as an Outstanding teacher. She then secured a teaching post at the highest achieving secondary school and sixth form college in County Durham, where she taught English to KS3 and KS4 and Media Studies to KS5. 


In 2018, Miss Munro moved to Dubai to pursue teaching abroad in an international setting. As a keen traveller, she enjoys meeting students, staff and parents of different cultures and backgrounds and loves to travel to new destinations during school holidays. In her spare time, Miss Munro is an active and social person who loves to exercise, eat out at new restaurants and relax by a pool with a book. 


This academic year, she takes on the role as Head of Fire Fox House. Miss Munro is excited to build strong relationships with all members of her house team and to develop the FPS community for students, staff and parents.
