Claire Nami

I am delighted to introduce myself as the Assistant Head of Primary and FS Lead. I have been an enthusiastic and highly motivated Early Years Teacher for 20 years and I have worked both in the UK and for the past nine years here in Dubai. I graduated with a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies and Education from Sunderland University followed by a PGCE from The University of Leeds.

I have a strong belief that young children should thoroughly enjoy learning and I understand the importance of allowing children to learn through carefully planned purposeful play activities in a safe and secure environment. By developing children’s confidence and independence skills we are building the foundations to their future learning.

One of the best aspects of my role as FS lead is being able to inspire and share my passion for the Early Years and make a positive impact on many more lives. Here at GEMS FirstPoint School we teach children to love learning through an inquiry-based ethos where critical thinking and problem solving become natural skills and where children are encouraged to ‘have a go’ at anything allowing for challenge with no ceiling on their ability to succeed. 

I have had the privilege to have designed and opened our brand new Nursery here at FirstPoint School enabling us to welcome our youngest learners from the age of two. With our British trained teachers and state of the art facilities our children are able to thrive at their own pace in a home from home, stimulating and nurturing learning environment. We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with a Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning. We offer the FirstSteps to building strong foundations for your child’s future here at FirstPoint Nursery.
