Ellie Winstanley

Head of Year 11

Miss Winstanley is originally from a small town called Newton-Le-Willows, which is located in the North West of England. She graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA (hons) degree in English.

Miss Winstanley first had a taste for rules and routines when she served in the South Yorkshire Police Force as a Special Constable. She then progressed to complete her teacher training as part of the Teach First Programme, graduating from The University of Manchester with a PGCE in Education, and was graded Outstanding. It was during Miss Winstanley’s time teaching in Manchester that allowed her to discover her passion for pastoral and her desire to ensure that all students are able to achieve their full potential. 

In 2018, Miss Winstanley relocated to Dubai and joined First Point School. Miss Winstanley is also a qualified TESOL teacher and during her first year she worked closely with the EAL department to ensure that all students were able to successfully access the British Curriculum.  Miss Winstanley is a passionate English Teacher and was also previously Head of Earth Leopards. This year, Miss Winstanley is thrilled to lead Year 10 on a new and exciting journey in KS4. 

During her spare time, Miss Winstanley loves to travel to weird and wonderful places across the globe, she is also known for her hidden talents such as being a North West Ceili Irish Dance Champion and being able to play the Scottish Bagpipes. As the Head of Year 10, Miss Winstanley is thrilled to welcome, work with and support the students of Year 10.
