Internships and Industry Opportunities

Under the KHDA Rahhal 10X programme, we are pioneering a new concept to integrate industry within education, and the first stage is to provide weekly internship opportunities for Year 12 students.

For one day per week, Year 12 students spend their day working in business and industries, usually with a specific digital or technological focus, to allow development of work-place skills.

Nominated for the 'Innovation in Education' Award at the GESS Conference 2020

The aim of the internship programme is to provide our students with real-world experience and development of industry-level knowledge and skills, while receiving an outstanding education.

Exposing students to the workplace environment and expectations will accelerate their personal growth and enhance their understanding of the employability traits and qualities required to be successful after completing their studies.

Our students will stand out from the rest when applying for university or employment due to the experience of contributing to real-world projects with industry personnel as mentors while receiving an outstanding education.

The experience of working in industry will provide access to what the organisations are planning for now and the future of the 4th industrial revolution.

Students will cover between 40-100 hours over one year.

Currently there are 14 students undertaking an internship with companies such as:

  • Siemens (energy efficiency using digital tools and software),
  • Mirai (digital/technology consultancy and education software),
  • MJU Engineering Consultancy (working on building projects and using software to design),
  • Miles building contracting (digital building designs),
  • Desert Moon Steel (finance and digital marketing)
  • Rubber World Industry (operations and customer service)

The Siemens Programme

Students spend one day a week at their internship, and are required to maintain logs of their activity.

The programme has gained interest from KHDA National Workforce, and established local and global organisations have signed up since to provide opportunities which will prepare the students for the real- world beyond the traditional expectations.
