Deirdre Conlan

School Counsellor

Hello FPS community,

I'm Deirdre Conlan, your Secondary School Counsellor. With a professional background spanning Ireland, Egypt, and the UAE, I bring a diverse international perspective to my role in supporting children and adolescents within both governmental bodies and educational settings.

I hold an MA (Dubl) in Social Studies (Social Work) from Trinity College, Dublin, where I achieved a First-Class Honor (1.1) for my dissertation titled "Young Persons Probation in the Context of Irish Society." Additionally, I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Global Diplomacy (Middle East and North Africa) from SOAS University, London. Currently, I am in the process of completing a Masters in Psychological Sciences at Brunel University in London, further deepening my knowledge in the fields of psychology and counselling.

In my role, I employ evidence-based methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and strength-based practices. My goal is to guide students through academic, social, and emotional challenges. I am committed to establishing a secure, supportive, and confidential environment where students feel comfortable openly discussing concerns related to personal matters, academic progress, or future goals.

Having had the pleasure of meeting some of our remarkable students here at FPS, I am genuinely excited about the journey ahead and encourage each of you to reach out to me by email at [email protected] if you have any questions, concerns, or if you'd like to explore ways, we can collaborate to provide the best possible support.

Looking forward to being part of the students' academic and personal journey.
