GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa Celebrates Exceptional 2025 A-level and BTEC Results

August 2025

GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa (FPS) is celebrating a year of exceptional success in both A-level and BTEC qualifications, with results that place students well above the England national average and open doors to leading universities and professional pathways worldwide. The Class of 2025’s achievements reflect the school’s strong academic culture, dedicated teaching, and the unwavering support of its close-knit community.

A-level Excellence Above National Averages

This year, 83% of students achieved A*-B grades, placing the school above the England national average. These results underline FPS’s commitment to high academic standards and preparing students for competitive higher education destinations.

David Wade, Principal/CEO of FPS, praised the outstanding performance:

“I am delighted with this year’s A-level results at GEMS FirstPoint School. Our students have shown academic excellence, resilience, and ambition. These achievements reflect the partnership between hardworking students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. It’s wonderful to see many securing places at top universities worldwide, showcasing our global aspirations. I am proud of these outcomes, which affirm our focus on high standards, exceptional teaching, and a culture of aspiration.”

Rhys Headley, Head of Secondary, also commended the cohort:

“I am immensely proud of our students for achieving exceptional A-level and BTEC results this year. Their dedication, resilience, and determination have been inspiring, and it is wonderful to see their hard work rewarded. These results reflect the commitment of students, the support of families, and the outstanding teaching of staff. This success demonstrates academic excellence and the strength of our school community. Congratulations to all on this remarkable, well-deserved achievement.”

BTEC Pathways Deliver Outstanding Results

The school’s BTEC students matched this academic success with equally impressive results:

  • 50% achieved the highest possible grade of Distinction*.
  • Two-thirds were awarded Distinction or above.
  • 100% achieved a pass rate.

These results highlight FPS’s commitment to offering flexible and personalised learning pathways, enabling students to excel whether they choose academic, vocational, or hybrid routes.

Lewis Hammill, Deputy Head of Secondary, reflected on the BTEC achievements:

“We are incredibly proud of our students’ exceptional BTEC results this year, achieving a 100% pass rate, with 63% of entries awarded D*-D and over half securing the top D*. Our BTEC Sport and Enterprise pathways remain vital, with many excelling on hybrid routes alongside A Levels. Graduates will progress to apprenticeships, practical courses, and international universities. Congratulations to every BTEC student for your dedication, resilience, and outstanding achievements.”

A Community Built for Success

The results achieved by FPS students this year are the product of a school environment that fosters ambition, resilience, and personal growth. With a strong culture of aspiration, expert teaching, and tailored support, FPS ensures every learner is prepared not only for academic excellence but also for success in life beyond school.

As the Class of 2025 takes its next steps – whether into top global universities, competitive apprenticeships, or dynamic career pathways – they carry with them the confidence, skills, and values nurtured at GEMS FirstPoint School.
