Regan Ferreira

Primary Head of Inclusion

My name is Regan Ferreira and I am a devoted, collaborative educator with leadership experience who thrives on providing students with the best possible start to their education and life. I relocated to Dubai from London, in December 2022, starting as a SEND teacher at GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS). I have been an educator for fourteen years, during this time I have been honoured to teach hundreds of exceptional and diverse children in both South Africa, London and Dubai. Most importantly, I have acquired invaluable lessons from the inspiring children that I have educated. I believe that every child flourishes when presented with opportunities to experience success and can reach their full potential every day, every week and every year.

Real and meaningful inclusion is something I am very passionate about and can be demonstrated through my drive and commitment to Students of Determination. Before joining FPS, I worked at a primary school in London as the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Personal, Social, Health and Economics (PSHE) lead teacher, Deputy Safeguarding Officer, a member of the Senior Leadership Team as well as the head of lunchtimes and playtimes. Recently, I was awarded a distinction for the SENDCo accreditation by the University of Roehampton, London and have future plans to complete the remaining credits towards my Master’s Degree in Special Educational Needs.

I have already had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful children and families at FPS, who have all welcomed me with warm smiles and words of encouragement. I look forward to working in partnership with you as Head of Inclusion (Primary), as we support the children at FPS to reach their full potential and grow as life-long learners.
