Hannah Jones

Year 4 Leader and Assistant Head Teacher

I am from the coastal town of Bournemouth in the South West of England. I spent many years of my early life competing in dance competitions across the UK and still enjoys this as a hobby now.  My teaching career began in 2016 after graduating from The University of Winchester with a BA (Hons) in English and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). I continued to teach in the South of England, spending four years in a diverse school in Southampton. I taught in Year 4 and Year 5 for four years, moving into leadership roles in English as an additional language and Head of Year.

I have been at FirstPoint School for 5 years, beginning teaching in Year 5 and moving to Year 4 to become Year Leader where I have now worked for the past 4 years. I enjoy inspiring children to become independent, successful learners and young people by creating an engaging curriculum that is personalised for all. I am passionate about setting high expectations for each and every child in both my class and year group. By motivating children through exciting lessons and quality first teaching, I believe that all children can reach their personal and educational goals here at GEMS FirstPoint school.

I am also excited to join our outstanding Primary Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher (Behaviour and Culture) this year. I am eager to embrace the opportunity to play a positive part in the wider community of our wonderful school.
