Jessica Renshaw

Year 2 Leader

I am from a small village in the countryside of England called Long Buckby in the county of Northamptonshire. After finishing school, I attended university in Sheffield where I studied a BSc in Psychology. After a few years of working as a tutor, I decided to officially get into teaching and completed my Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) at Sheffield Hallam University. After finishing, I returned home to the countryside and worked in a private sector school near Buckinghamshire before moving to Dubai. I taught in Year 4 and Year 2.

I am now moving into my third year at FirstPoint school and I am thrilled to be returning in my role of Year Leader in Year 2. I am passionate about developing relationships so that all children feel secure, happy and comfortable in their learning environments. An approach I love to take when teaching is to deliver lessons that give children an interactive experience and create immersive environments to enable them to gain a competent understanding of what is being taught. I believe in providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all children to encourage them to develop academically and socially along with becoming independent and confident learners.
