Assistant Head Teacher
Nathan Jackson is originally from Guisborough, a small town in the North East of England. He studied Secondary Design Technology Education, specialising in Product Design at Edge Hill University in Liverpool where he graduated with a First-Class Honors Degree. Nathan started his teaching career in London where he worked for 3 years as a Design Technology Teacher across all year groups and was also a Deputy Head of Year. During this time his classes obtained some of the highest D&T results in the School’s GCSE and A Level history. In 2015, Nathan then moved to Dubai to pursue his passion in Pastoral Care and Leadership.
In the 7 years Nathan has been at FirstPoint, he has held the positions of Head of Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 supporting students through some of the most challenging years of their education before joining the Secondary Senior Leadership team 2 years ago. Nathan is an extremely passionate individual who only strives for the best in everything he does, continually pushing his students to always be the best they can be. His key roles have been supporting students both pastorally and academically, ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of everything he does. In supporting students academically, he is always coming up with new innovative ways to support all students in his care, to give them the tools to become successful in an ever-changing world. Nathan is delighted to assume the role of Assistant Head Teacher this academic year.
Aside from education Nathan is a keen sportsman, playing both competitive football in Dubai and Cricket in the UAE and spending his spare time on the golf course. Mr. Jackson is also an avid DJ and this has allowed him to DJ around the world including helping at school events such as proms.
