Internships

We are delighted to be able internships to students in Y12 as part of our unique industry internship programme

Students in Year 12 have the opportunity to pursue an internship one day a week through the year. Weekly internships at FirstPoint are a way of integrating with the real world whilst still studying the curriculum options. Currently there are a number of students undergoing a variety of internships with organisations related to law, sustainability, banking, logistics, computing, technology, business, teaching and sports.

There are internships with organisations which are provided by FirstPoint and GEMS, parents at the school and internally based within school. Students are expected to apply with an application letter and resume before undergoing interview(s). Students are supported through the process by their Form Tutors, Careers Advisor and Assistant Principal Specialism.

The internship programme is supported through the KHDA Rahhal 10X initiative, and FirstPoint is recognised as a lead school and pioneer in this region for industry links, as well as the GEMS Centre of Excellence for Digital Industries. Groundbreaking partnerships with Siemens, Noon, RIT and AUD have developed the foundations with discussions ongoing with a number of other global and local organisations.

Opportunities to interact with organisations and provide initiatives throughout the year set the school apart from the rest, and our students will be standout candidates for university and/or employment.

Students who are not on an internship have the opportunity to study careers-related learning, such as employability skills and developing their personal qualities to accelerate their personal development.
